One day Wombat feels the rhythm in his toes and he’s off to the dance before he knows! With a whole swagful of colourful Australian animals joining him along the way, Wombat shimmies, slides and jives all the way to the dance! A wonderfully entertaining rhyme which can be sung to the tune of the traditional folk song "Frog Went a Courting".
Download the tune and sing-a-long.

Lachlan Creagh was born in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. He studied industrial design for several years at university but realised this career wasn't for him and moved to Canberra where he completed a one year post graduate degree in computer animation.
Lachlan has worked on a variety of computer animation projects, such as TVC’s corporate videos, computer games, concepts and designs for launches, events and displays.
He spent over 12 years working full-time in the computer games industry in Brisbane and doing part-time freelance work in his spare time. He worked as a 3D artist, Lead artist, Lead Animator, senior animator/concept artist and, most recently, senior concept designer during this time.
In 2008, he made the decision to pursue a full-time career as a freelance illustrator, concept designer and animator. He packed his family up and decided on a sea change to northern NSW for some beautiful sunsets, fresh air and inspiration. He has since illustrated nearly 20 books for children.
He lives with his beautiful wife, Sarah, and 3 cheery sons who offer him a great source of creative inspiration.
The book itself did not take very long however, it was squeezed in between other books, a traumatic episode of illness with my father, Easter holidays and such. So, the development time might have been 2 or so months but actual hours about a third of that.
A lot of the forest is from the forest near Springbrook mixed with reference from the Blue Mountains, the beach is the inspired by the beach at Cabarita- the rocks the goanna is on is a mix of Girraween and the rocks at the beach at Cabarita.
A lot of my youngest son, is infused in wombat - especially in the unstoppable force of nature department and the joy of life department, and body shape and body poses. That said, I didn't make studies of my youngest son - just did the drawings and then looked at them and realised it was pretty much him.
